La Sécurité
Outline
La Sécurité is an English/French bilingual band from Montreal whose boisterous music is anchored to a dancey form of post-punk with a freewheeling, somewhat jagged, angular sound. They are an interesting collection of artists, including multi-instrumentalists and members of other musical outlets. Their work is often electric, lively, engaging, and steeped in a dance floor sensibility that occasionally touches on disco (bass player Félix Bélisle, for instance, is the lead singer of Choses Sauvages). Their songs are strongly melodic, instantly accessible, and their live shows are basically dynamite. Éliane Viens-Synnott is a captivating vocalist who also handles keyboards and occasionally shifts to drums.
