Kamaal Williams is a London based jazz keyboardist whose music is built for the most part on '70s style funky jazz fusion style. He also brings in some elements of '80s pop jazz and the club music sound of more recent years, especially its electronic music aspects. His music is firmly grounded in the classic funk fusion sound with an added propulsive character that owes to some extent to his parallel career as Henry Wu, a producer and DJ that creates highly dance oriented electronic jazz. His 2020 album Wu Hen includes pieces that tug at a more traditional, early '60s style jazz, suggesting Herbie Hancock influences in passing.
