Jerry Paper

Jerry Paper is a moniker used by Lucas Nathan, who has been making bubbly and whimsical indie pop since the early '10s. Their earlier work was distinctly quirky bedroom recordings done with an amateurish enthusiasm and a wonderfully off kilter approach. They upped their game considerably on 2016's Toon Time Raw!, as they started working with top-notch musicians (essentially BADBADNOTGOOD playing under a pseudonym) and tightened their songwriting and arrangements considerably, emerging as a fully formed indie artist who writes infectiously catchy melodies, and presents them with a lot of confidence. Their music tends to be upbeat and joyful, filled with humorous and slightly surrealistic lyrics and a gentle funk that keeps the grooves going.
