mxmtoon

mxmtoon is an indie singer-songwriter, ukulele player, and a quintessential bedroom pop artist who was originally from Oakland. She started out as a YouTube vlogger, occasionally uploading her quirky songs on her channel. Her music has a light-hearted, effervescent quality, which focused on her personal life as a teenager in the beginning, and now focuses on her personal life as a young adult. Her self-released early work was often small intimate pieces she played on her uke. As she came to embrace her role as a musician and went on a record label, her music also moved to its next step, adopting an overtly pop approach with a bigger sound and a backing band. The core of her small songs built around catchy melodies is still there but with a layer of polished production on top.
