Jackie Mendoza

Jackie Mendoza is a singer-songwriter who works in the synth driven electronic pop format, loosely speaking, apparently with no reservations about being wildly eclectic about what should qualify as pop. She generously pulls in reggaeton beats, trap beats, and glitch effects while filtering her voice and instruments through various pedals as she creates sound collages with shifts and turns that give her music a little herky jerky feel at times. The result is a highly distinct sound that may not exactly suggest easy listening. That said, she tends to infuse her songs with catchy melodies and all kinds of instantly grabbing hooks, which, admittedly may be coming in from some oblique angles sometimes. She freely switches between English and Spanish in her vocals.
