Foyer Red is a art rock band from Brooklyn with a penchant for whimsy and a knack for taking fine pop melodies that project a sense of fun while also keeping the audience off balance through their use slight dissonance, rhythmic changes, and thematic shifts. Their earlier work tended to get choppy and jagged, even vaudevillian at times. That seems to have changed a little since they added two more members to become a quintet recently (a bassist and a guitarist/keyboardist), nudging them towards a more jangly pop frame. Vocals are handled by the tag teaming pair Elena Riordan and Mitch Myers for the most part. They are an upbeat, energetic bunch and Riordan's clarinet gives their music a nice touch when she brings it up.
