Spllit

Spllit is the creative and somewhat enigmatic duo Urq and Marance, two multi-instrumentalist musicians that combine quirky novelty art with an experimental mindset. They tend to follow their muse wherever it takes them, while managing to maintain a clear and coherent style rather than chaotically bouncing off the walls. They create songs with strong melodies, rhythms, and grooves that would have turned into perfect little pop ditties in someone else's hands, which they use as Lego pieces to combine and recombine with dissonant guitars, overdubbed vocals, spoken words, and so on. The wonder of it all is that as odd and bold the output is, it is also utterly absorbing and unabashedly fun at the same time. The songs are fairly short, typically not even making it to the 2-minute mark. They are, however, loaded with ideas.
