Flip Top Head

Flip Top Head is a Brighton-based band that weaves strands of post-rock, chamber pop, and post-punk into a distinct sound with quite a range. They may take on a tight rock sound one moment before they swing out towards an expansive one that seems to pull in classical music or prog influences or slide into a serene ballad moment. In this regard, they are stylistically well-aligned with bands like Caroline and Black Country, New Road. There are similar cycles of tension building and release in their music as well, though perhaps not as intense as some of what those other bands have done in the past. Their tunes are quite melodic in nature, to the extent that one feels they could easily pass as stand-alone pop songs.
