Emily A. Sprague

Emily A. Sprague is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer who is also the vocalist and main songwriter behind their folk-oriented, quiet and hushed music of the band Florist. She kicks into a whole different mode as a solo artist, diving into the world of ambient music and building serene and meditative textures through her modular synthesizer. There is a floating, ethereal quality to her work that evokes the sense of gazing at desolate and majestic landscapes, gripped in a melancholic mood. Melodic and rhythmic elements are often pushed aside in favor of a contemplative and inward looking emotional view constructed through sound.
