church crush

church crush (all lower case) is a Brooklyn based trio who plays indie rock with a hash and relatively aggressive mindset. They sound ragged and raw in ways that may recall some of the alt-rock that was happening in the '90s at the outskirts of the mainstream. Guitarist james o sets the tone with his stripped down sound and jabbing style while the rhythm section packs a nice punch. This style came to the front on their initial EP glyph (2026) with an explosive energy. Prior to that, they were more prone to a mixture of jangly indie rock and a pop-adjacent melodic flow, and on one occasion, math inspired guitar action.
