Amiture Music
Outline
Amiture Music is the creation of multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter Jack Whitescarver. Currently a four-piece band, it started out as Whitescarver's solo work on 2021's The Beach, infused with synth pop and club sound. It was followed up by Mother Engine (2024), which saw the addition of Coco Goupil that elevated Amiture to a duo, as they shifted towards a heavily trip-hop influenced, somewhat ethereal style. With the subsequent departure of Goupil, the band expanded the line-up, modified its name, and got back to a mixture of elegiac underground and rough indie tones that had been a thread in their music all along. It is presented in a relatively looser feel at the moment, though it is a bit early in this version of the outfit to have a good sense of where their overall sound is headed.
Depending on the incarnation: Nation of Language, Casket Cassette, The Soft Moon, Class Actress
The band started out as Amiture before the line-up change.
