Anna Butterss

Originally from Adelaide, Australia, Anna Butterss is a Los Angeles based bassist, multi-instrumentalist and composer. They are a particularly top-notch talent on the bass, electric or upright, and have been playing with a number of high end pop and jazz artists over the years. They released their first solo album, Activities, in 2022, where they presented their atmospheric and somewhat moody original work that is anchored in jazz. They remain more or less style-agnostic at this point, despite their overall affinity towards the fusion side of things, specifically in the way they adopt the '80s style with its pop overtones with some regularity. They also touch on some elements of post-rock, and do not mind stepping outside the conventional jazz forms.
