Ahleuchatistas

Ahleuchatistas are an experimental rock band whose music draws from prog, math rock, fusion jazz, and avant-garde. They are often a guitar/drums duo, though they also periodically expand to a trio with the addition of a bass. Guitarist Shane Parish has been the only constant in the band since its inception in 2002. Their current line-up includes drummer Danny Piechocki and bass player Trevor Dunn. Their music is improvisational in nature. It is also intense in a cerebral way, where the members freely shift tempo, mood, and directions while building complex textures and layers. They consistently display an excellent level of musicianship without actually being showy about it. Their work is by no means intended to appeal to the masses, but it is essential for those who enjoy a more adventurous approach.
