Wendy Eisenberg is singer-songwriter and a guitar player, who has been working in a wide array of genres and styles. Their solo work is built on their vocals playing against an acoustic guitar or banjo, backed by with some synth and electronic action with occasional percussion in the background. It primarily consists of quirky and idiosyncratic songs that sound closest to folk. There is also a deep avant-garde side to their music where they explore dissonance, as well as an improvisational jazz thread they periodically return to. They sing with a disarmingly sweet and intimate voice that very often ends up tying together the jarring parts of their experimental excursions. As a point of comparison (and to put their solo work in context), their work with their band Editrixleans towards the electric guitar, metal and noise.
