TTSSFU

TTSSFU is singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist Tasmin Stephens, who plays a softer version of shoegaze that is combined with a post-punk finish for a highly atmospheric effect. She sings in a breathy, whispery voice that adds a layer of mist to her delivery and evokes shades of dream pop. She keeps the level of distortion in her sound at lower levels, which takes the aggressive edge off of her shoegaze. The shimmer in her guitar and her melodic shapes may come across as having an affinity for early '80s post-punk, with a similar pairing of gloomy grooves and haunting tones that are especially prominent on her initial EP, The Body (2022).
