Heartworms

Heartworms is Jojo Orme, an artist who plays in the post-punk style with a goth edge. Her music appears to draw from a whole slew of distinct influences from artists aligned around that particular axis, whether it is The Cure of the goth era, Interpol, or Trent Reznor's later spin on the genre. Her songs are invariably dark in nature, but not necessarily all gloomy. There are layers to her work where guitars and synths often interweave with a distinct rock feel and can form complex textures extending well beyond the margins of the conventional goth-oriented post-punk sound. Speak singing is part of her bag of tricks, obviously, but it is not something she relies on with any regularity.
