Saya Gray

Singer, multi-instrumentalist Saya Gray is a well of ideas working in the space between indie pop and folk. Her music is inquisitive in the way it tries different things with respect to sound and texture, while keeping it in a safe zone that feels warm and cozy.  Her earlier work, especially her 2022 debut album, 19 Masters, comes across as unfinished and raw, but it also signals the arrival of an artist fully-formed, ready-to-go, pretty much bursting with creativity. Polish and restraint came in 2025's SAYA, which finds her playing in the same sandbox, but this time with fully developed songs that are still quirky, sweet, and melodically vibrant, but now, also benefiting from a more focused production.
