Rosier
Outline
Montreal based band Rosier has their roots in the folk traditions of the Quebec region, but also bring an indie oriented ear to their sound and infuse it with a misty, dream like quality. There is a gentle sway to their songs, and a soft and warm texture built around a combination of sparse instrumentation and the vocal delivery by vocalists Béatrix Méthé and Sarah Marchand. The band approaches the material with a light touch, keeping it intimate in the way they underplay their melodies as if to handle their delicate nature with care. Their music is practically an open invitation for the listener to wind down and embrace a more sedate mood.
Les Poules à Colin, obviously, also Renée Reed, Nicolas Gémus, Étienne Coppée, Pearla, Leah Senior
They started out as Les Poules à Colin.
