Public Body is a Brighton based band that plays energetic, uptempo post-punk that is propulsive, angular, and perhaps a bit twitchy at times. Their sound has a strong throwback quality to it, bringing to mind the early days of the genre in the late '70s in terms of its roughness and some of the carry over features of punk. The songs are driven by the bright, open ring of the guitars with glimpses of minor dissonance. The rhythm section is pretty locked in and provides a steady throb. Vocalist Seb Gilmore adopts a speak-singing style, where he regularly airs out his pet peeves, a good chunk of which appears to be daily annoyances around work and office life.
