Peach Pit

Peach Pit is an indie pop band with a good deal of jangle and plenty of sweet sauce generously spread over their songs. There is some surf rock in their music and occasional acoustic guitar strumming but for the most part they play sparkly uptempo pop with effortlessly catchy tunes. Vocalist Neil Smith has a smooth delivery that matches the clarity of the songs. They essentially make comfort music where everything is in place and the lyrics walk the between sentimentality and irony. This combination has pretty much defined their sound going back to their beginnings except they played were playing it a little bit on the bouncy indie rock style back then.
