Oracle Sisters

Oracle Sisters are a trio of musicians, each from a distinct country of origin and currently based in Paris, who make smart, sophisticated, pop that lies a bit on the sultry, jazzy side of the tracks. Their songs are melodically strong, placing a lot of the focus on vocal harmonies while sticking with relatively straightforward instrumentation. They have a distinctive sound that blends a variety of styles including a touch of folk and a hint of dream pop type haziness on top of their jazz inspired, warm and relaxed pop. The starting point for the band is the duo of guitar players Lewis Lazar and Christopher Willatt, whose partnership as performers and songwriters goes back quite a bit. Singer, drummer Julia Johansen is not only a tight fit with her voice and her songwriting sensibilities that she also gives them plenty of depth when they swing in a jazzy direction with their ballads.
