The Nude Party

The Nude Party is an all around rock band that is originally from North Carolina, but now settled in the Catskills in New York state. They play a remarkable range of styles as an ensemble whose skills were honed by the years they spent on the road. They wear their '60s influences on their sleeves, which are practically a cornucopia of the period greats. Rolling Stones is there, Lou Reed of the Velvet Underground period is there, and so is The Band. Even The Kinks of Muswell Hillbillies is not too far below the surface. They manage to bring all those threads together without coming across like a hodgepodge. On the contrary, they meld them into a cohesive sound, which, when combined with their ability to write clear melodies and strong hooks, turns into music that captures the spirit of a period and recasts it in contemporary terms.
