Ron Gallo

Singer-songwriter and guitarist Ron Gallo was a member of Toy Soldiers before he moved on to build a solo career in the mid '10s. His music is heavily tilted towards the rough and scrappy sounds of garage rock with considerable jaggedness mixed in. He can get pretty loud, though his music tends to be more upbeat and humorous than aggressive. He regularly gives his songs the catchy bits and hooks that stand out. There were more prominent country affectations in his earlier work, which have subsided since then. His 2022 album veers into a pop friendly mainstreamish indie territory with a smoother sound, which allows his considerable songwriting abilities to shine more brightly.
