MAVI

MAVI (born Omavi Minder) is a hip-hop artist with an experimental mind, introspective poetry, and a crooner's delivery. Musically he tends to lean towards the muted side, from his lo-fi production and relatively understated beats to the backgrounded piano lines and vaguely jazzy touch to his relaxed rapping style, he gets the listener's attention in more subtle ways. Sometimes, he starts gliding through his songs in a borderline speak-singing manner with his raspy voice. He can get somewhat choppy and glitchy other times, but just enough to set up an uneasy feel without pushing it too much. His music has some of the basic flavor and dynamics of Earl Sweatshirt's though his is relatively more subdued and chill in tone, which in turn allows his poetry to come more clearly to the front.
