Joesef

Joesef is a singer and songwriter originally from Glasgow who works mostly in soul. His music intersects with indie pop quite a bit, and he sometimes also brings in elements of jazz on the lighter side and still with that pop touch.  His voice stands out as gentle more than anything else, and it oozes wall-to-wall romantic yearning. He does some soft crooning when he brings the jazz to the front. His music feels warm and heartfelt. It is typically calm but with a rolling mid-tempo feel. The songs are well-constructed, melodically subtle, and written in a pop-conscious way especially with respect to the placement of those rousing choruses and backing vocals.
