Puma Blue

Puma Blue is the stage name for Jacob Allen, a singer, guitarist, songwriter, and an all around crooner working in a very soft, jazzy, melancholicstyle. He combines elements of lounge and jazz with hip-hop inspired grooves, which is very on brand for an act coming out of London recently. His whispery voice can range between low level mumbling and a high falsetto for dramatic effect, and his songs, slowed down as they are, do not hesitate to step outside of the conventional playpen for this style of music and embrace edgy and grimy tones. The pace also allows him the space to introduce subtle shades both in the songwriting and his delivery, and the effect is an overall tone that is more introspective and contemplative than sad. That is, at least, until his 2025 album antichamber, which comes with a profoundly sorrowful and more ambient than jazzy collection of songs.
