Mandrake Handshake

Mandrake Handshake is an Oxford based musical collective led by multi-instrumentalist Row Janjuah and vocalist Trinity Oksana that brings a fresh take to a time-honored genre. They take the '60s style classic psychedelia as their base, specifically staying close to the lighter, swirly Jefferson Airplane type which gives them an airy flow. They then add a Stereolab leaning French inspired cool pop layer on top. Every now and then they also bring in some krautrock flavor, puling in some of the motorik magic along the lines of bands like Neu! and Can. The result is a potent combination that works very well and benefits a great deal from the band's inspired songwriting as well as their thick grooves and the organic feel they bring to their music.
