Loose Articles

Loose Articles are a Manchester-based quartet that adopts some punk elements in their presentation and delivery, but sticks mostly to the playful lane of the early post-punk sound. They are a lively and dynamic group whose songs often deal with gender politics and other social matters. They do this from a humorous angle and the fun they seem to be having is contagious. There is an angular and quirky feel to their music, as bassist Natalie Wardle and guitarist Erin Caine often trade lines alternating between speak-singing and regular vocals. Their use of repetition and rhythmic hooks suggests some kinship with another Mancunian band, The Fall, though with a much lighter approach and way, way more charm.
