Lime Garden is an indie rock band that plays a mixture of dance-oriented post-punk, disco, funk and a good deal of bouncy pop put together with loads of enthusiasm. Their music is highly melodic, driven by funky grooves and a rhythm section that obviously has a lot of affection for the classic disco sound, including the hi-hat action, hand claps and all the usual ingredients. They also incorporate syncopated guitar jangle that is not only [chef's kiss] but also keeps the music on the upbeat, adding more to the dance feel. Vocalist Chloe Howard combines sardonic wit, ironic distancing, and restraint into low affect commentary delivered in a manner that bears some kinship with Rhian Teasdale of Wet Leg.
