Liam Kazar
Outline
Liam Kazar (born Liam Cunningham) is a singer guitarist who was active in the Chicago area music scene for many years going back to the beginnings of Kids These Days in 2009 and only recently began working as a solo artist. His music has an easy-going style that captures the sound of classic '70s soft rock oriented pop, which he combines with a relatively even-tempered kind of funk. His grooves are not aggressive, and neither is anything else about his music. It is cool and relaxed, generally with a nice, Beck-like upbeat bounce. He often sings in a David Byrne tone as well, minus the irony. There are some clear retro vibes in his overall sound, but it is calibrated in a way that it sounds completely contemporary.

Kazar was a member of hip-hop/indie hybrid band Kids These Days, along with Vic Mensa and Macie Stewart, who formed the duo Finom with Kazar's sister, Sima Cunningham.
He was also part of Marrow, a band he formed with his Kids These Days bandmates Macie Stewart and Lane Beckstrom.
He has played with Tweedy, Chance the Rapper, Steve Gunn, and Daniel Johnston.
