Jerusalem in my Heart, aka JIMH, is a multimedia project between producer and musician Radwan Ghazi Moumneh and filmmaker Erin Weisgerber (other filmmakers also participated in the past). The musical portion of the project is handled by Moumneh, a Lebanese-Canadian, who takes Arabic music as his base and adds a layer of production that involves repetitious drone, industrial noise, loops, and samples, to create music that could be elegiac at one point, hard-hitting at another. In addition to keyboards and the guitar, he also plays the buzuq, a Middle Eastern instrument with a resonant string that also allows microtonal slides. He often works in collaboration with other artists, incorporating their contributions directly into his music. His body of work is often conceptual and thematically focuses on events taking place in and surrounding Lebanon.
