Jelani Aryeh

Originally a San Diego native, singer Jelani Aryeh puts out personal and introspective songs that infuse his indie pop with gentle rock accents and an R&B edge. He is stylistically aligned with the high-end sound of the '00s to some extent. There is also some punchy pop rock sprinkled throughout his work, though he does so with a measured approach and maintains a relaxed tone. This is especially visible in his 2024 album, The Sweater Club, in which his production comes across warmer and more opened up, as he breaks out of the subtly nervous mold that had shaped his earlier sound. This leads to music that projects confidence and melodies that feel more fleshed out.
