Hello Mary

Hello Mary is a Brooklyn based power trio that creates alt-rock with strong grunge tendencies, though the way they use distortion on the guitars can sometimes be a bit shoegazey. They play high-powered music with crunchy guitar riffs, thumbing bass lines, and pounding drums. There is also a fair amount of the classic loud/quiet dynamic to their songs in the way that they shift between them in their A and B sections, which is another characteristic of the '90s style. With softer vocals up front, they add a sweet layer to their music that contrasts with the harder sounds they push out from their instruments, ultimately giving their song a smoother, easier edge.
