Güner Künier

Güner Künier is an artist with an eclectic style who often creates uptempo, dance-ready music, but likes to take a variety of paths to get there. Sometimes she takes the synth pop route, other times it is dance pop, or post punk, or bits of this and that. There are occasional Anatolian motifs in her songs, but they tend to be downplayed in favor of a propulsive sound that vibes like some late night dance party at an industrial garage in the outskirts of Berlin. She frequently uses distortion effects on her voice, as if she is singing through a megaphone. She alternates between Turkish and English in her songs. Although her earlier work favored a darker, more menacing tone, she opted for a brighter overall feel on her 2025 album Yaramaz.
