Grote Geelstaart

Grote Geelstaart takes noise rock into an aggressive post-punk direction with post-rock and progressive elements involving sudden turns in direction and odd time signatures. There are elements of bands like Gilla Band and black midi in the mixture, as well as Swans-like ominous tones breaking out into massive explosions of dissonance. There is a type of fluidity to their line-up that comes from the way some members shift between instruments, including a double drum set up that adds emphasis to the percussive nature of their music. Vocals also match the band's volatility in the way singing can turn into spoken words and then a stream of shrieking in the course of any given song.
