Goat Girl is a four piece indie rock band from London that occupies a different corner of post-punk than the goth adjacent bands like Fontaines DC Instead of rhythmically locking themselves into an interplay between drums and the bass, they tend to have more free-flowing, tempo-switching, jabby, punchy type of music. Their adventurous nature, which was at the forefront on their self-titled first album, gave way to a more mature approach by their second, On All Fours, where their jagged and scrappy sound is smoothed over, the melodies have become more engaging, and the band has allowed their pop instincts take them to a more dance-curious, harmonically more at peace, bouncier place. They still play unpredictably to an extent, but they are more settled now, and more clearly defined stylistically.
