Goat Girl

Goat Girl is a London based band that takes an outside-the-box approach to post-punk as they fluctuate between soft folk/pop type ballads and a rhythmically complex, jabby, jagged style. Their adventurous nature, which was at the forefront on their self-titled first album in 2018, was pulled back a little to open up some space for a more pop-oriented harmonically more at peace, bouncier approach on their second album three years later, On All Fours. The band shrank to a trio in 2024 in Below the Waste, and more or less snapped back to their earlier edgy selves, though perhaps with some of their angsty elements smoothed over in favor of a more settled feel as they continue to explore the artistic edges of their music, while also taking occasional shots at ballads and pop pieces.
