Genre is death

Genre is death is the duo of guitarist, vocalist Ty Varesi and bassist, vocalist Tayler Lee, who play a particularly noisy, abrasive form of music that can be described as part gothic post-punk, part no wave. Between their high levels of distortion, dissonance, and noise, and coupled with a fair amount of shout singing, some of their songs would not be fully out of place if they had been in the Sonic Youth catalog. There is also a loose, dingy feel to their presentation that evokes a sense of a dark bar with a run-down, barren decor. That said, their sound is quite captivating, actually, with songs that are brutal at their core but also melodically satisfying in ways that add to their allure.
