Pure Adult

Pure Adult is multi-instrumentalist, vocalist Jeremy Snyder and dancer, visual artist, and vocalist Bianca Abarca, who put together music that is abrasive and dissonant, yet melodically enticing. Before they were a duo, Pure Adult was a solo project of Snyder, who has always worn his wears his This Heat, Swans and Sonic Youth influences proudly on his sleeve. Their music has aspects of drone, and frequently employs abrupt shifts and fair amounts of noise as part of its toolbox. Both vocalists deliver their lines in a style that is between speak singing and shout singing, which blends in well with their jagged, tense, and rough sound. On the other hand, their songs also come with a melodic core that cannot be overlooked as a contributor to a fascinating sonic mixture.
