Foals

Foals are an indie rock band whose music has been moving closer to synth pop over the years. The ongoing transformation may have completed on 2022's Life is Yours, which has a bouncy, dance-oriented sound with a bright summery feel. Perhaps a reaction to the pandemic years. They have always had an affinity towards dance beats even at their most indie rock times, though their synth work was much closer to '90s techno style than the '80s pop or new wave at that time. They have also had a very keen ear for melodic hooks and strong grooves throughout their career. So their current full embrace of the pop sound is not so out of character for a band that has habitually stayed on the up-tempo side of the fence.
