Flossing

Flossing is the solo project of Heather Elle, the bass player that formerly played with Bodega and The Wants. Her music has a tendency for the upbeat, dance oriented post-punk, though she delivers that with not so much with a zest for fun and enjoyment, but with some dark undertones as if the world is slightly coming undone around that beat. She makes interesting stylistic choices that take her from trip-hop to disco to '90s alt-rock to even some glimpses of shoegaze in short, casual steps. The connective arc between all these pieces is a techno-type club base that makes it presence felt in most of the songs.
