Shilan

Shilan (Douglas) is a New York based singer, songwriter, and producer whose work combines a more traditional strand of R&B with the kind of contemporary approach that has emerged in the desktop production era. She has a smooth, soft delivery, and mixes basic R&B style arrangements with layered textures. She has been experimenting with elements of hip-hop, including thick grooves with syncopation, and some rapping, as well as low-key neo soul and folk-style melodies sung in a not so folky way.
