Dumbo Gets Mad

Dumbo Gets Mad is the Italian duo Luca Bergomi and Carlotta Menozzi who have been working out of Los Angeles since 2011, making a kind of psychedelic music that is part fuzzy, trippy retro grooves and part dubstep smothered under a layer of haze. Their music feels very loose, even overtly jazzy at times. On the other hand, disco is not entirely out of the question either, neither is funk nor eastern tones. Their music is lively, bouncy, but also quite gentle in temperament.  Some of the band's charm comes from their gruff recording style that is not quite lo-fi but also not sonically polished either. The vocals are handled between Bergomi and Menozzi whose biggest achievement perhaps is to expertly manage the disparate elements that creep into their music.
