Do Nothing is a post-punk band from Nottingham whose music leans more towards the bouncy and the upbeat, without necessarily being cheerful. Kasper Sandstrøm's guitar has an angular and jangly style but also spices things up with dissonant phrases and outbursts, mixed lower in the studio recordings. The bass adds a nice funky new wave style pulse, while the drums lay out a lively beat. Singer Chris Bailey speak sings in tones with mannerisms that brings to mind a young and kinder Mark E, Smith, and steadily inching towards the James Murphy (of LCD Soundsystem) and David Byrne territory. They are one of the more musically dashing bands in the current wave of post-punk revival.
