Djo

Djo (Joe Keery) is a singer-songwriter with an eclectic record, funnelling a wide range of styles and influences into his highly melodic and instantly accessible pop. He is pretty stable genre-wise, staying in the playpen of a playful combination of rock and pop with a synth and mildly psychedelic flavors. Going through his songs, however, is likely to bring up stylistic associations with some of the grandest names in pop history between the late '60s and mid '80s from The Beatles to The Cars. A key factor is his ability to take these strands and weave a coherent sound and create songs that are distinctly him. This results in a growing body of work that is original in its sourcing and shades, but also strikes a familiar chord at the same time.
