Colatura is the dream pop duo Jennice and Digo Best, whose music places the emphasis more on the pop, while keeping a relatively light touch on the dreamy part. Bass player Jennice Best adds a misty layer with her vocals at times, though she also has a sweet, indie-like mode. Guitarist Digo Best has a jangly, bouncy tone that may be a bit atypical for pure dream pop, where his melodically rich, often arpeggiated style reaches back to textures created by earlier acts like The Smiths and The Housemartins. That said, he certainly turns up the swirl on a regular basis to match the said mist. Their songs are melodically rich and often have a nice uplift. Their initial releases around 2020 had more prominent rock accents.
