Actor Caleb Landry Jones (see The Florida Project, Get Out) is also a singer-songwriter and guitarist with a particularly trippy, theatrical sound that mixes psychedelic pop with glam. Originally from Richardson, Texas, Jones broke out with his experimental sound in his debut album The Mother Stone in 2020, followed by two more albums in the subsequent years, filled with songs that are similarly off-kilter and well-thought-out. His music is an imaginative take on the late '60s psychedelia that is tonally reminiscent of Syd Barrett (maybe a touch of John Lennon), also aligned closely with the early '70s glam extending from David Bowie to Marc Bolan to Cockney Rebel, and gravitating somewhat towards the Kurt Weill type cabaret sound as well.
