Andrew Bird

Andrew Bird is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, violinist, and a master whistler who has been creating his own kind of music that brings in folk (both indie and vintage), swing style jazz, indie rock, and elements of classical music any way he sees fit. He has been releasing music since 1995 and has been pretty prolific, recording roughly an album a year on average since then. He has a catalog that is remarkable both in volume and variety, often shifting back and forth between genres along the way, which make sit it impossible to know ahead of time which Andrew Bird would show up on any given album. His violin ties his folk, ambient, and modern chamber music sound all together neatly. His indie rock tends to be on the gentler, kinder side, which is one of the hallmarks of his music across all that genre-hopping. He is a brilliant songwriter and his whistling is something to behold.
