alexalone
Outline
Alexalone (stylized as all lower case) started out as the solo project of Austin based bass player Alex Peterson and evolved into a full band, which currently includes Lomelda herself, Hannah Read. Their music was more of a throwback to the '90s low-fi mid-tempo shoegaze-type drones coupled with psychedelic fever dreams and studio experimentation. As they matured as an artist, their music started to shift towards post-rock inspired gloomy slowcore pieces and not so subtle Slint references. Their music has a hypnotic quality and can pack a lot of dramatic build-ups and drop-downs. Peterson has a nice, soft voice that is mixed in with the instruments rather than being pushed to the front.
Slint meets Low meets low-grade goth.
