Zola Blood

Zola Blood is a band that creates electronic-based gentle pop music that carries a wistful feel and romantic undertones along the lines of Sohn and Tender. They generally bring out some downtempo ideas and club beats with a light touch, but also move them in the direction of an expansive sound that may be somewhat reminiscent of Radiohead in terms of its overall calmness and ethereal qualities. That said, there is a palpable beat in their songs even if the pulse is downplayed at times. Vocalist Matt West's soulful style complements the lush nature of their synth work. Between their warm sonic textures and the delicate beats they construct through a mixture of percussion instruments and electronic effects, their music can get quite hypnotic.
