Yoo Doo Right

Yoo Doo Right is a band that loves to create epic pieces with grinding guitars working off of smoldering bass lines and crisp drums, taking their time to set up their pieces, sometimes as a slow drone, other times burning up in a dynamic metal fashion. They are built on a mixture of post-rock and psychedelically tinged metal, though they are just as likely to pull elements from krautrock and shoegaze, which they regularly do. They often put out songs with a long run time that gives the band a good amount of space to develop their ideas. Guitarist Justin Cober also provides the sporadically placed vocals incorporated into their pieces. Their earlier work tends to be noisier and more uptempo, though they smoothed their sound out a bit on their 2024 album From the Heights of Our Pastureland.
